In an effort to up-skill and as part of the Volunteer Incentive Program, the Lady Khama Charitable Trust (LKCT) had its excelling volunteers attending a 1 day training course on Customer Service (Level 1) on the 10 August 2019, at Kalahari Training Institute (KTI), located in Gaborone International Commerce Park (GICP).

This group was selected as they rated extremely high in their volunteerism and in representing the Trust during its two major annual fundraising activities (Lady K. RUN21 & Lady K. Family Fun Day, Urban Obstacle Course and Patron’s Cup Challenge) out of 120 volunteers for the 2019 intake.

The purpose of this training was to empower our volunteers to provide good service at all times, to all types of customers. During the training, the volunteers learned the skill on who a customer is, how to manage a customer and understand the meaning of customer service.

Your support, through training our volunteers, will ensure that our volunteers offer the best customer service to the Trust’s customers, partners and sponsors during our annual fundraisers and consequently, contribute towards helping the Trust achieve our mandate of helping vulnerable women, children and people living with disabilities. In addition, this will go a long way into ensuring that our volunteers will offer use this skill in their future endeavours.

Customers are demanding; there is no question about it. In order to meet their demands and encourage them to come back for return business, the staff has to be ready, willing and supported in order to serve them.
