APPLY FOR SUPPPORT

The Lady Khama Charitable Trust (LKCT) grant program focuses predominantly on early childhood development, people living with disabilities and community upliftment projects. Both national and grassroots charities are invited to apply for support from LKCT through our grant application system.

The Trusts mandate is in the support of vulnerable women, children and people with disabilities. The Trust supports Botswana based results-oriented legitimate non-government organisations (NGOs) and non-profit organisations (NPOs) operating in those areas, rather than individuals, in order to benefit as many people as possible.

Each application for support goes through a Grant Application System and is then vetted and reviewed by the Board of Trustees. Support will be based on a series of variables, one of which is having a good track record in good governance, financial discipline and transparency; as well as the human resource capacity to carry out its activities. Sustainability will form an important part of the post disbursement, over sight as well as a critical aspect of the review process.

Priority will be given to grant requests that leverage the greatest amount of sustainable impact.

Format:

• All application submissions need to be provided in the grant application format,
• All application submissions must be saved in pdf and emailed to grants@ladykhamatrust.org
• All application submissions have to be typed (No hand written applications will be accepted)
• Only successful applications will be contacted.
• All applications must come with a cover email / letter.

Other considerations:

• Fill out all sections of the grant application. If you think an area does not apply to you, please write something to support that.
• For section B, under proposal description, you can attach a separate document, please reference if done so.

LKCT Grant Review Time Line:

Stage 1: Applications are registered and reviewed by the LKCT office,
Stage 2: Applications reviewed by Trust Coordinator and board sub-committee
Stage 3: Applications final review, board of trustees

*Trustees site once every quarter.
