The Little Friends Centre in Serowe was established in 1999 under the umbrella of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The initiative of the Day Care Centre came to the rescue of the orphaned and vulnerable children of Serowe.
The centre’s objective is to ensure that the children of Serowe have access to quality pre-school education which enables orphaned children to attend school for free and also enjoy fun activities. The Little Friends Centre has been operating through the Humanitarian Community Project run by the Catholic Church.
Even though The Little Friends Centre has challenges such as finance and transport for children who live in the outskirts of Serowe, they have been able to survive through the generosity of others. Lady Khama Charitable Trust is proud to continue assisting the centre as Lady Ruth Khama did since 2009.
