Founded by the Ghanzi and Lobatse endurance horse owners in 2009, the event was born in the interest of raising funds for Lady Khama Charitable Trust initiatives in Botswana.

The community came up with the unique idea of hosting an endurance relay from Ghanzi to Gaborone using the traditional cattle routes that were once used by our fore fathers. Endurance riders travel more than 650 KM’s – on average 160KM’s per day – through trail terrain and extreme temperatures.

This 4-day long race shows Batswana working together for a good cause as well as raising awareness on endurance riding.

To date this fundraising initiative has raised over 10 million Pula, these funds have been redistributed to local charities who support vulnerable woman and children nationwide.
