The Lady K. Trail RUN is an annual running event that seeks to raise both funds and awareness for the Lady Khama Charitable Trust’s noble mission of empowering and aiding vulnerable women, children, and the disabled in Botswana. Scheduled to take place on Sunday 07th April 2024, our objective is to bring corporate entities, local communities, and individuals together to support this cause.
Our primary aim is to raise funds for improving the lives of vulnerable populations in Botswana, including access to education, healthcare, livelihood opportunities, and social integration programs. Through this event, we also intend to spread awareness about the challenges these marginalised groups face and the work being done by the Lady Khama Charitable Trust.
The race circuit starts and finishes at the Waterstone Events & Conferencing in Gaborone, Botswana.

LKCT will provide:

YOU will provide:
- Minimum of 10 – 20 staff members to man the station,
- Branding to brand the water station,
- Own entertainment i.e. music, cheerleaders, mist tunnels
- Fruit, energy jellies, soft drinks, cups, black bags, gloves etc.
At LKCT, we pride ourselves in our ability to identify a pressing need in our community and do our best to address it. This ideology, of meeting community needs with dignity at the forefront of our work, is the bedrock of what we do, and is evident in all our projects. In this regard, we are proud to announce that the proceeds from this year’s Lady K. Trail Run will be used to finance our newly launched project, Lady K. For Her Wellbeing Project. After conducting a needs assessment, we concluded that there is a considerable need for feminine and hygiene products for high school girls. This need, when left unaddressed can contribute significantly to period poverty, absenteeism, and lower educational attainment.
Lady K. For Her Wellbeing Project is centred around feminine hygiene and includes monthly hygiene hampers for girls in the program, for a year. The aim is for each monthly drop-off session to include a conversation/checkup with different professionals (e.g. gynaecologist, optician, dentist, life coach, college admissions officer, engineer, just to name a few) that the girls would ordinarily not have access to. The proceeds from the Trail Run will help pay for the products in the monthly hampers. Items in the hamper include:
